The invention and development of Campsaround platform was the subject of a piece that appeared in the week’s issue of “Startuppers Magazine” on April 14, 2022, in the section of “Restart of Greek tourism in the global scene.“
With the title ” Campsaround: the digital choice for holidays in nature!” this magazine which specializes in the startup ecosystem, especially in Greece, honored Co-founders Katerina Kamtsi and Kyriako Tsigkro for their pioneering idea regarding the creation of the first online booking platform for alternative accommodation in Greece.
Startupper Magazine that focuses on the startup ecosystem ,serves as a crucial platform for the startup community, showcasing various initiatives, technologies, and entrepreneurial stories. The magazine appears as an insert with the newspaper Eleftheros Tipos and highlights themes such as digital transformation, smart city applications, and sustainability among other key topics for startups.
In this special feature on Campsaround, the co-founders mentioned the conception and creation of the idea, the reason they decided to create such a booking platform as they wanted to fill a “gap” in the field of outdoor tourism that they identified: the difficulty for a visitor to book a camping, glamping or private outdoor accommodation. Driven by this desire to ensure that no other visitor would ever have this issue, they were able to establish Campsaround.
Of course, major external bodies and institutions were highlighted in this article, which contributed the transition from the concept of Campsaround to its execution and development, such as The Egg business incubation and acceleration program, CapsuleT Travel and Hospitality Accelerator initiative of the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels and The People’s Trust.
Lastly, Campsaround’s co-founders discussed their new innovative addition of the platform which benefits both owners and travelers: the possibility for all those who have unused land to offer it to visitors who choose this type of holiday.
