Mystras’ Castle View camping area is a short walk from the Byzantine archeological site, which is located near the campground. Castleview, located beneath Mount Taygetos and surrounded by olive and mulberry trees, is in perfect harmony with its natural environment. Castleview is approximately 6 kilometers from the center of Sparta, approximately 1 kilometer from old Mystras, which contains a wealth of historical and cultural information, and approximately 500 meters from the village of New Mystras. It is 250 kilometers from Athens and approximately 6 kilometers from the center of Sparta. Traditional (more than a century old) Greek village where visitors can meander the cobblestone streets and stop in one of the many cafés for a cup of Greek coffee or a glass of ouzo.
