Well integrated into an organic olive grove, and naturally made, it is well-suited for people seeking serenity, an earthy feeling, and aesthetics.
There is lots of light, great views of trees, high ceilings, a soft smell of wood, patios, and a large garden with olive trees, herbs, and clay soil.
Within a short walking distance to restaurants, bars, and markets.
Celebrated beaches are accessible either on moderate walks or very short drives. Monasteries, wine tasting, and hiking nearby.
The space
The idea behind the cottage is to find yourself in a contemporary sanctuary, an organic olive grove surrounded by olives and carobs, in a design wooden house in a private estate, yet close to beaches, taverns, and sights.
You can sit in the hot midday sun in the garden, read a book on the shaded patio or under a tree, contemplate the singing of the cicadas, or enjoy the colors of the sunset with a glass of wine. Our kitchen offers a comfortable cook with a tree view and the olive oil provided will be from the surrounding trees. Our low-height king-size beds will give you that good night’s sleep you longed for. There is also a double sofa bed in the living room. All paintings and art work in the cottage are originals.
The cottage is fully furnished and equipped single-story house of 51 m². It has two patios of 9 and 24 m² each. There is a large garden with trees and herbs which is shared.
It is within a short walking distance (10 min) to Chorafakia village where there are restaurants, bars, pharmacy, and markets. The nearest beach, Tersanas (900 m), is a 20-min walk. Celebrated beaches such as Stavros, Kalathas, and Seitan Limania are very short drives (5-15 min). Chania city and the airport are within a 15-min drive range.
Agia Triada and Gouverneto monasteries are a 10-min drive, where there is also wine tasting.
Hiking the Stavros mountains leads to small pirate bays, Christian caves, and cultural hikes.
Guest access
You can move locally on foot for eating, drinking, shopping, or swimming. However, for visiting more distant places, it is recommended to have a car or motorbike as public transport is scarce.
The cottage is stair-free including a walk-in shower
Wi-Fi is freely available across the cottage and patios.
Free parking is readily available and step-free.
There are no cars or traffic around the cottage as the way connecting the farm with the village is a dead-end, non-asphalted road.
Other things to note
The cottage is constructed from sustainably grown wood (five trees planted for each harvested) and bio-climatically designed, keeping a very pleasant temperature and a shelter across all weather conditions. It is build with a double (separate internal and external) wooden wall. Between walls, fire, thermal, and noise installation is applied. All windows are double-glazed. Air-conditioning and heating are available and are free to use. No pesticides are used.
