Choquequirao, meaning “Cradle of Gold” in Quechua, sits high above the Apurimac River and is surrounded by snowy peaks. Unlike Machu Picchu, it is less known and only accessible by hiking, making it a hidden gem. Discover the mysteries of this incredible site and its recent revelations.
Day 1:
Cusco | Capuliyoc – Chiquisca Playa Rosalinas – Santa Rosa
Hike Through the Beautiful Andean Landscape and Breathe the Fresh Air
We’ll pick you up at dawn and head to Capuliyoc for breakfast before starting our hike. Joining the rest of the trekking team, you’ll embark on a journey through the vast Apurimac Valley, with breathtaking scenery along the way. Upon reaching Chiquisca, you’ll have your first lunch.
In the afternoon, continue hiking through mountainous landscapes and alongside the rushing Apurimac River, popular for extreme sports like canoeing and rafting. The day concludes at our camp in Santa Rosa, where you’ll enjoy dinner and a well-deserved rest.

Day 2:
Santa Rosa | Marampata – Choquequirao Archaeological Complex – Marampata
Arrive at the Epic Choquequirao Complex
Begin the day with a hike to Marampata, where you’ll take in breathtaking views of the canyon and surrounding landscape. Continue on to Choquequirao to explore its most important sites and experience the powerful energy of this ancient Incan archaeological complex.
At noon, enjoy a delicious lunch amidst stunning landscapes and Inca structures. Later, return to the Marampata camp for a wonderful dinner and another night of peaceful, uninterrupted sleep.

The Great Return Amidst Magnificent Landscapes
Begin your day with a delicious breakfast before starting your return journey. On the way, you’ll pass through Santa Rosa, where you’ll learn about Cambray, a liquor made from sugar cane. After a brief rest, refresh your feet in the cool waters of the Apurimac River. Then, continue your ascent back to Chiquisca, where you’ll enjoy a delicious dinner and spend the night.

Retrace Your Steps and Unwind in the Conoc Hot Springs
Enjoy a final breakfast before beginning the last leg of the hike to Capuliyoc, where you’ll bid farewell to the team. Then, board your private transportation to visit the Saywite Monolith. Afterward, relax in the Conoc hot springs and enjoy a delicious lunch.
In the afternoon, you’ll head back to Cusco in private transportation. Along the way, take in the beautiful landscapes through the window, savoring this final opportunity to enjoy the scenery. Finally, you’ll be dropped off at your accommodation in Cusco.
