Lika Dumbadze, Georgian solo female entrepreneur, purchased a 2400 square meter plot of empty land next to her family’s ancestral home in Gomi village, Ozurgeti, with the dream of developing it into a boutique campground for adventurous travelers. She recruited a team of 10 experienced Georgian and foreign travelers and adventure tourism professionals to design and construct the camp. umbo Eco Camp was designed to purvey the best possible experience to travelers with the principles of sustainability, adventure, accessibility, and cultural exchange at the core of its construction.
Dumbo Eco Camping aims to bring sustainable tourism—both local and international—to Georgia’s unique Guria region. Surrounded by hazelnut forest in the subtropical jungle of the lower Bzhudzhi River valley, this rustic-yet-comfortable campground is the perfect base for exploring everything from the nearby volcanic black sand beaches to the vibrant mountaintop villages of 2000 meter Gomi Mountain.
