Begin Your Journey on Historic Trails Your adventure begins early with a 4:30 am pickup for a quick breakfast in Ollantaytambo, then on to Piscacucho – KM 82 to commence the hike. Enjoy breathtaking scenery and visit archaeological sites such as Canabamba and Llactapata. Experience the enchanting presence of the Incas as you traverse their ancient path, with your guide sharing insights about their history and the region. End your day’s trek by relaxing in Ayapata for the night.

Day 2:
Ayapata | Dead Woman’s Pass – Pacaymayu – Runkurakay Pass – Sayaqmarka – Chaquiqocha
Savor Breathtaking Views of the Vast Andean Mountains Today presents the toughest challenge as you ascend to the highest point of the trail, Dead Woman’s Pass, at 4,215 m (13,829 ft). The trek involves a 4-hour uphill climb, culminating in awe-inspiring panoramic views at the summit. After descending, explore the Runkurakay archaeological site and then climb to the next pass. Participate in a brief ceremony and offering before exploring the Sayaqmarka ruins. Conclude the day’s hike by enjoying the sunset on the final stretch to the Chaquicocha campsite, where you can marvel at the Andean night sky and Inca constellations.

Experience the Incan Magic at Ancient Sites With the hardest day behind you, today offers stunning scenery. The jungle thickens as you walk, with the Salkantay glacier visible in the distance. You’ll be captivated by panoramic views of the Vilcabamba mountain range. After taking in the sights of the Sacred Valley and Urubamba River, head to your camp near the Wiñay Wayna archaeological site for lunch. In the afternoon, explore the site before returning for a celebration with your trekking team, appreciating their efforts and toasting to your journey. Turn in early to prepare for a pre-dawn start.

Explore the Enchanting Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu The long-awaited day has arrived! Rise at 3:30 am to reach the Inca citadel ahead of other trekkers. Your first stop is the exclusive Inca Trail entrance at the Sun Gate, offering breathtaking initial views of Machu Picchu. Then, descend to the ancient city for a 90-minute guided tour of its key areas. Afterwards, return to Aguas Calientes for lunch and board the train to Ollantaytambo, followed by private transport back to your hotel in Cusco.
