West of Gythion town, on the lovely Mavrovouni beach, Camping Gythion Bay is located. Orange, olive, fig and nut trees cover 40 square meters of shaded space where you can choose your own spot without restrictions, but with the option of electricity for a comfortable stay. The magnificent sandy beach of Mavrovouni, right in front of the campsite, is ideal for swimming and sunbathing, as well as for windsurfing.

The playground has a safety flooring with artificial grass and many new and unique games. As a result, it is safe.
Over and above that, the new playground allows parents to relax by the pool or restaurant while their kids make new friends, play and develop motor skills.

The pool is suitable for swimming and relaxation. There are tables and umbrellas around the pool too. The bar overlooks the pool and the sea and serves a variation of cocktails.

Hands down the best camping place in Greece! We went at the end of August with our own tent and it was easy to find a spot in a shady place. Really clean facilities and everything you could need on site - bar, restaurant, mini market and even a pool with lounge chairs/tables where you can eat and drink. All of the staff members are super friendly and know what they are doing. Will definitely be coming back!

An experience that could have been 5 stars... On the positive aspects: 1. Warm water in the showers 24/7 2. Great environment and lots of green 3. A perfect place for kids with lots of activities evey day including cinema with cartoons at nights 4. Friendly personnel who tries their best even under duress. 5. An overall resort feel at times 6. The sea in front of the camping is great for a swim and sunbathing. On the negative aspects: 1. Bad WiFi making this a non suitable option for digital nomads who need to stay connected. Even reading emails can be a hassle. 2. Reports of theft and no security patrol on the tents even after 2 incidents were the police was involved making the experience an insecure one where you need to move around with your bag all day to ensure your valuables don't go missing. 3. No lifeguard on a pool of a camping primarily advertised as child / parent / family friendly. This lack of supervision also led to the pool getting contaminated (or at least changing in colour) and having to be closed down for a number of days during the busiest holiday period (August 2022). 4. Tent campers are allowed to park inside the camping site making the experience seem like you camped in a garage. There are polite notices to move these out but the lack of enfocement is a problem in this case. 5. An expensive restaurant serving okayish food with not enough and clearly stressed personnel that at times can't hide their distress. 6. This extends to the owner of the camping site who unfortunately on a single occasion lost her temper and said to my upset wife: "if you don't like it here don't come again". And that happened over a trivial case which could have been easily handled by a professional in hospitality services. [Apology noted and appreciated Gytheion Camping] All in all Gytheion Bay is great for kids. Not so much for adults. The experience is expensive, lacks balance and it has the dynamics of an uncontrolled and unpleasant situation forming at any time i.e. a child being hit by a car that traverses the camping on speed, or your child having an accident at the pool due to the lack of professional supervision, or a child getting abducted as there is no control on who enters or exits the camping site. This comes with the toll of not being able to relax as you should on a holiday as an adult and it is pretty serious if this is what you get with an average day cost of 100 Euros / day (which aligns with what we were spending at least on having breakfast, lunch, cocktails and accommodation) for 15 days (1.5k Euros) Will we be visiting again? Not sure as we are always aiming for something better and new. At the same time though I would suggest everyone with a family considering Gytheion Bay as a good option for them with lots of activities but unless you are prepared to be 120% on alert to ensure your child's wellbeing then you should think again.

Of course there is a lot of people in summer, however there is no regulation for space, so people are campimg everywhere, that means that family can have smaller space than two people if they want to and that is causing problems with space for everyone. :) Facilities are regularly cleaned and that is good! Camp is for families, not for young people so much, so don't expect parties. :D Beach is good and nice. Staff are helpful. I would recommend to call in advance, if you want to have a chance to have space in the summer. Anything you need you can buy jn the shop.

Large camp but good organized. Plenty activities for children including the swimming pool. Instead of high season we got a place for our caravan. Good base for a small trips in Laconia.

Super clean with many facilities (so, it doesn’t get crowded) WC, kitchen, freezer, showers renovated. Decent food and nice cocktails at the bar. Lots of shade, spacious but without clear boundaries
