On the route to Areopoli, about three kilometers outside of Gytheio, sits Camping Meltemi. We want to help you relax and enjoy yourself in our award-winning 25-acre olive grove.
Stay in the shade of the massive olive trees or the pine trees that span the length of the magnificent Mavrovouni beach.
The seashore stretches approximately 412 kilometers and is great for an evening promenade. The sea is normally calm, providing a safe haven for the endangered loggerhead turtle Caretta-Caretta, but when the wind blows, the waves are spectacular. That is why surfers from all over the world come here to leave their gear in a specially designed location while they wait for the meltemi wind, which delivers excellent conditions for their sport and is called after the campsite.
Only guests who have booked can leave a review.

6 months agoWe spent there 3 nights in low season (mid September). Right in front of the beach with many services (bar, restaurant, fridges, mini Market, washing machine...). There is also a big common dining area with stoves. Free fresh water dispenser. Toilet and showers always super clean. And the camping spots, which were named after Greek Gods, were in a beautiful field of olive trees.

7 months agoOne of the best campings in Greece. Absolutely clean and quiet, good food, really kind and helpful staff. The beach is perfect, also clean and very beautiful. Many facilities, would undoubtedly recommend, had a really good time.

7 months agoThe area and the sites are very nice and the staff are friendly but they need to really filter who they let stay in the area, there are very low quality people fighting and shouting very late at night every night and as a result you can’t get any decent sleep. I wouldn’t recommend going there unless radical changes in terms of security are made. Also a lot of people that are not staying in the camp enter at night looking to steal and for trouble

7 months agohorrible. just horrible. worst camp i’ve ever been to. wish i could rate it a zero. the horror starts when you first arrive, after being greeted by unpleasant and lethargic staff, you get to pick a spot between hundreds of peoples‘ tents sticking next to each other. no way for privacy or peace. people playing the drums and partying at night. theres so much dirt, someone drives by your tent and you get obliterated by sand. the sanitary facilities have no toilet paper, are outdated and there are only 3 little houses, not renough for so much campsite. the showers are always cold. the wifi doesn’t work, not even at the restaurant itself. you have to pay 4€ just to have your car parked next to your tent. and the best thing is the 4€/day charge for electricity, which is just outrageous. the beach is a nightmare as well, horribly crowded. if you like to feel like tuna in the can, that’s the camp for you.

7 months agoNice people. You have to be careful for groups of young people from cities around gytheio because the camping is getting very crowded and very noise. The camping is ok with shadows all over. The tavern serves home cooked food. The grill is excellent and pizza also from the bar. We will visit it again but we will ask first for those annoying groups. No warm water all the 9 days we stayed there they have to take care of it.
