On the route to Areopoli, about three kilometers outside of Gytheio, sits Camping Meltemi. We want to help you relax and enjoy yourself in our award-winning 25-acre olive grove. Stay in the shade of the massive olive trees or the pine trees that span the length of the magnificent Mavrovouni beach. The seashore stretches approximately 412 kilometers and is great for an evening promenade. The sea is normally calm, providing a safe haven for the endangered loggerhead turtle Caretta-Caretta, but when the wind blows, the waves are spectacular. That is why surfers from all over the world come here to leave their gear in a specially designed location while they wait for the meltemi wind, which delivers excellent conditions for their sport and is called after the campsite.
