Begin your adventure in Cusco and join us on the Classic Trek to Machu Picchu. This alternative route takes you to the beautiful Humantay Lake, the majestic Salkantay Mountain, through the cloud forest, and to the edge of the Peruvian jungle.

Day 1:
Cusco – Mollepata – Challacancha – Soraypampa – Humantay Lake – Sky Camp

Hike to the Jewel in the Mountains
Wake up early and head to Mallepata for an optional breakfast before continuing to Challacancha, where you’ll start today’s hike. The morning trek will take about 3 hours, leading you to Soraypampa, where you’ll stay in our unique Sky Camp.

After a refreshing lunch and some rest, we’ll hike to the stunning Humantay Lake, a three-hour round trip. We’ll then descend for a delicious dinner and a well-deserved sleep.

The Stunning Salkantay Pass and Descent to the Amazon Jungle
Today is the most challenging day, but the rewards are immense with fantastic views of stunning landscapes. After enjoying breakfast, we will hike for about three hours to the Salkantay Pass, where we’ll take some time to capture the incredible panorama. Then, we’ll descend through the cloud forest to our lunch spot before continuing to the edge of the jungle amidst exotic scenery. Finally, we’ll reach the exclusive Mountain Sky View Campsite in Collpapampa for the night.

Live the Coffee Experience
Continue your adventure with a hike through the lush jungle of the Santa Teresa Valley, where you’ll encounter rivers, waterfalls, orchids, and various plantations of bananas, coffee, and avocados. Arrive at our campsite by lunchtime to rest before enjoying a free afternoon to explore the surroundings and visit an organic coffee farm. Afterward, rejuvenate with a relaxing bath in the hot springs of Cocalmayo. In the evening, unwind in our Jungle Domes, surrounded by the soothing sounds of nature.

Day 4:
Lucmabamba – Llactapata – Aobamba – Hidroeléctrica – Aguas Calientes

Enjoy Your First Glimpse of Machu Picchu from Llactapata
Today’s adventure is even more exciting as you hike along a section of the original Inca Trail. After a two-hour hike, you’ll reach the Inca archaeological site of Llactapata, where you’ll learn about its history and catch your first view of Machu Picchu. Afterward, descend for lunch before heading to Hidroeléctrica. From there, board the train to Aguas Calientes. Upon arrival, enjoy dinner at a restaurant and rest in a hotel before the big day tomorrow.

Tour of the Incredible Incan Citadel: Machu Picchu
Today is the highlight of your trip: visiting Machu Picchu, one of the new seven wonders of the modern world. After an early start, you’ll take a bus to the citadel to beat the crowds. Once inside, enjoy the initial view and embark on a two-hour guided tour, learning all about this magnificent site.

If you have booked an additional mountain hike, you’ll have time to do that afterward. Then, we’ll return to Aguas Calientes for lunch before boarding the train to Ollantaytambo. From there, our transportation will take you back to your hotel in Cusco. Now, you can rest after this unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime experience.
